Chalet Gerard, 4-Star-Hotel in Selva Val Gardena

Tales captured in black and white – timeless and full of soul.

Chalet Gerard - The Mountain Lodge is a precious boutique hotel in Selva Val Gardena, beautifully embedded in the surrounding nature and landscape. A window opening onto the enchanting peaks of the Sella Group and the Sassolungo.

It was 1964 when our father built a ski lift at the foot of Piz Culac, soon followed by a small mountain hut. Our mother quickly became the heart of that place, winning over guests with her traditional dishes and her now-famous apple strudel.

Restaurant & Café in the heart of the Dolomites

You appreciate authentic flavours - just like authentic people.

In the kitchen, our mother never stopped learning, always seeking the best pairings, experimenting and evolving while staying true to tradition and the finest ingredients.

Our father, meanwhile, made it all possible: he built, rebuilt, expanded — but above all, he greeted everyone at our door with a smile.

you love to wander the world

A holiday in Selva Val Gardena

But nothing feels quite like being “at home”.

Born from the dream and passion of the Mussner family, Chalet Gerard is a warm and welcoming home, where the spirit of the mountains lives in the earthy tones of boiled wool, the natural embrace of larch wood, and the treasured memories of our father Gerard - stories that carry you back in time.

Set on a truly exceptional stage, Selva Val Gardena is a gem in the heart of the Dolomites. From our hotel, you can admire the north face of the Sassolungo, Ciampinoi, the Sella Towers, Meisules, Piz Miara, and our beloved hill just behind the house, Piz Culac.

Hospitality and tradition passed down through generations

Because we’re just like you.

We’re Nives and Alexa, daughters of Gerard and Helga - to us, simply “mum and dad”. We’ve been part of this journey from the very beginning: from a small mountain hut to a renowned chalet. And today, we carry the soul of the values this place was built upon.

In our dishes, just like in our rooms, you’ll find warmth and welcome, a love for tradition and a passion for innovation. But above all, you'll find time — the kind of time that's precious and too often forgotten. Time to listen, to notice, to savour and to share.
