Where is the chalet located?

Can I reach the chalet by car?

Yes, Chalet Gerard is easily accessible by car via the scenic road between Selva Val Gardena and the Gardena Pass, even in winter.

Chalet Gerard is framed by iconic Dolomite peaks: the Sassolungo, Col Rodella and the Sella Group

At what altitude is the chalet located?

Chalet Gerard sits at 1,980 metres above sea level – perfect for nature and mountain lovers.

When was the chalet built?

Originally built as a mountain hut in 1968, renovated in 1976 and completely rebuilt in 2010, Chalet Gerard is still family-run by the Mussner family.

Are there public transport options to the chalet?

In summer, a bus stop is located directly in front of the chalet. In winter, the nearest stop is in Plan de Gralba (1.5 km away).

Where can I park?

Restaurant and café guests can use the timed parking (90 minutes) in front of the chalet. Hotel guests have access to a reserved parking area beside the chalet or a paid garage (free for motorbikes).

Can I have lunch or dinner as a non-resident guest?

Yes. Lunch service does not require a reservation (except on Christmas Day, January 1st, Easter and Ferragosto). Dinner reservations are required, either online or by calling +39 0471 795274. Opening hours: Lunch: 12:00–2:30 pm, dinner: 7:00 pm –9:00 pm.

How many rooms does the chalet have, and what types?

The chalet offers 12 rooms including Panorama, Junior Suite, Superior and Deluxe. A family room and small attic room (with skylight) are available upon request.

Do rooms have free Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas.

What’s included in half board?

Half board includes a rich breakfast and a curated four-course dinner.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in: daily from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm Check-out: 8:00 am to 10:30 am

What does the wellness area offer? Is it open to external guests?

The wellness area is reserved for hotel guests and includes: a sauna, steam bath, indoor and outdoor relaxation areas with panoramic views of the Dolomites, and a whirlpool tub.

Is there a gym? What does it include?

Yes. Our fitness area includes an ergo bike, treadmill, multi-gym station, weights and a yoga mat.

Are pets allowed at the hotel?

Small dogs are welcome. They are not allowed in the dining room, lounge or wellness area. Guests with medium-sized dogs may request a Superior Room with a large terrace and direct access to the meadow. In this case, the dog must enter via the terrace only, not through the hotel.

What is your cancellation policy?

In case of cancellation, the following charges apply:

  • More than 3 months before arrival: deposit only
  • 3 months to 1 month before arrival: 40% of the booking amount
  • 1 month to 1 week before arrival: 70% of the booking amount

 Within the last week before arrival: 100% of the booking amount

Late arrival or early departure will be charged in full.

We recommend taking out our Travel Cancellation Insurance to avoid any fees.

Do you offer a shuttle service?

Yes, during the winter season we offer a shuttle service from Plan de Gralba to the chalet (return only), exclusively for hotel guests.

Are vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options available?

Yes, we are happy to offer vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free meals. Please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your needs.

Are there hiking trails directly from the chalet?

Yes, hiking trails lead directly from Chalet Gerard to the Gardena Pass and Sella Pass. In winter, these can also be explored with snowshoes.

Is the chalet a ski-in/ski-out hotel?

Yes, you can start your day directly on skis from the chalet, taking the slope to Plan de Gralba, part of the Sellaronda circuit. For your return, a free shuttle from Plan de Gralba (1.5 km) is available.

Where can I buy a ski pass?

Ski passes can be purchased online or at the bottom station in Plan de Gralba.

Where can I rent ski or bike equipment?

We collaborate with a local rental partner and offer equipment booking directly at the hotel.

Is there storage for skis and bikes?

Yes. We provide secure storage for skis and bikes. In winter, there's a ski room with boot warmers and ski racks. In summer, bike storage is locked for maximum security.

Is there a charging station for electric vehicles?

Yes, an electric vehicle charging station is available exclusively for hotel guests.
